Bad News

Well I have some not so fun news...our little girl has to get tubs in her ears this Monday :( Halle has had a constant ear ache for about 4 months so we thought that it would be best. it is a little scared and i know that it is not a big surgery...but to me any surgery on my little girl is scary. I am also a little nervous because she cannot eat pass 12 that night and halle is still waking up once a night around 2:30 am wanting to eat...so that is going to be hard not feeding her...and she is not going to know what is going on! I just hope everything goes well....her surgery is a 6 in the morning so hopefully we will be in and out and on our way home! keep halle in your prays! And if anyone has any advice we would love to hear it :)

I am so sorry Maddi! I dont have kids but I know about this stuff from classes I have taken. I know that these are very successful surgeries with little risk... AND she will definitely be better off becuase chronic otitis media can have a big impact on her speech and language development! We (Speech ladies) see kids all the time who had chronic ear infections and didnt get tubes in time... Youre making a good choice! :) Good luck! I am sorry that you have to go through all that!

Hey! Taylor had tubes in his ears too at that age. It was super easy. They are a little drowsy, but they it only takes like 15 minutes to do the surgery. They don't seem to have any pain following, just need tylenol for the first day. The hardest part was that they have to be put to sleep, but they are only out for a short time. Good luck, I hope it helps her.

Reading your blog totally sent me back a year ago when we had to do the same thing with Owen. He had SO many ear infections that he was starting to think that his antibiotics was juice! We had the same surgery time and Owen woke up wanting to eat in the middle of the night. It was kind of a long night but the surgery went really well and quick and we are so glad we did it. His tubes are out now but he doesn't have problems anymore. Good luck! I'm sure it will go great!
